Sword Competition will consist of: 2 rounds, Head to Head Ring relay, and a Heads course.
Contestants will be allowed to use either of the following brands of sword for both competition:
Single Hand Practice Broadsword
Hand and a half Practice sword
Both made by Paul Chen and both available at
The Ring Relay,
will run head to head, where 2 competitors race against each other to see who gets the most rings and to see who finishes faster.
The competitors will start at either side of the list field and will try to collect 3 rings from each side on each lap. The competitor who finishes first will be awarded an extra point
Scoring: 1 point per ring - total possible rings per round = 12.
Extra point for finishing the round first
Total possible points for entire round = 13

The heads course:
The competitor will start at the opposite end of the list field knocking down the heads off of their platform with their sword, with both onside and offside (cross body) strikes. The first target is an offside strike, and each strike should alternate thereafter. The final head will be a cabbage where the competitor must cut the cabbage in half. Then end the round with a stab to the end target.
Scoring : Each head scores 1 point
cabbage score: 1 point for knocking off the platform, and 2 points for a cut more than 50% thru the cabbage, or a complete cut = 3 points
The end target bulls eye is another possible point.
Heads max points = 5, cabbage head max point = 3, end target bullseye = 1.. Total max points for the round = 9
