In his only appearances in New England

Saturday Sept 18th at the Academy of Knightly Arts Facility in Amesbury Mass…
Colin Richards
Founder of the Arts of Mars academies in Germany
Presents
Fiore dei Liberi 1409, Wrestling & Dagger / Ringen & Dolch
Based on his book of the same name

Participants will have the unique opportunity to study with European Scholar Colin Richards. Colin’s practical research combined with his years of traditional eastern study and his scholarly endeavors takes the theory of combats found in Fiore’s manuscript and makes them pure and effective technique.
As Dagger is the largest part of Fiore’s manuscript and wrestling forms the basis for much of what is shown, participants will get a solid understanding of Fiore’s art that can be applied to each and every other weapons form they can pick up. It will even give students of other traditions a firm format with which to understand this rich and complex art.

Seminar will run from 10am until 3pm with a lunch break (lunch not included). Non sharp daggers can be brought or ones will be available for use. Free sparring will be available after the seminar so you can try out your new tricks! At 5pm an informal after dinner with Colin will take place at a nearby restaurant and everyone is invited.

Seminar just $60. Paypal can be used, just please add $2 to cover paypal fees and your $62 can be paypal’d to oneail@hotmail.com

Participants will have the opportunity to buy signed copies of Colin’s book and his longsword video! You can also find them online through his website.

Sunday Sept 19th at the Academy of Knightly Arts Facility in Amesbury Mass…
Colin Richards
Founder of the Arts of Mars academies in Germany
Presents
Historic Large Shield Work

A lot of theories and ideas have been written about large shield work in the early and mid Middle Ages but much of it has been unsatisfactory. Either it come off as too stagnant and based off of a rules system or it seems just too impractical and can only work with a willing partner. That is the attitude that I had until I was able to assist Colin with a large shield demo in Dijon France and I can tell you, it was a real eye opener! Colin shows not only how the shield can be used effectively in a defensive manner, but also how it can be used offensively!

Colins years of study and practical application have made this seminar one of my favorites and I am excited to bring it to you. I know it changed how I use my shield in a wonderful and dynamic way! Before you ask, YES. This will help your shield work in any system. ANY!
Seminar will run from 10am until 3pm with a lunch break (lunch not included). Participants should bring a non sharp one handed sword replica and a center grip round shield (though any style shield can be brought). A limited number of each will be available for use.
